1. Acceptance of these terms
By browsing, registering, placing an order or listing a product on Horsie, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Returns Policy, each of which forms part of this agreement. If you do not accept them, please do not use the marketplace.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to place an order or to register as a vendor. We may amend these terms at any time; the version published on this page with its "last updated" date is the version that applies to your use.
2. The marketplace model
Horsie operates as an online marketplace connecting independent, licensed vendors with buyers in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. We are not the seller of record for any product listed on the platform, we do not take ownership of inventory, and we do not manufacture, formulate, repack or quality-test any goods.
The contract of sale is formed between you and the vendor. Each vendor consignment in your basket is a separate order, shipped separately and settled separately. Horsie processes payment on the vendor's behalf and releases funds after the applicable return window closes.
3. Vendor obligations
- Hold a valid commercial registration and trade licence for every market you sell into, and keep both current for as long as your storefront is open.
- Describe every product accurately, in both English and Arabic, including composition, net weight, country of origin, storage conditions and expiry where applicable.
- Make no therapeutic, medicinal or curative claim for any feed, supplement, grooming product or accessory.
- Honour the stated handling time, respond to buyer messages within your declared response window, and keep stock levels accurate.
- Comply with all applicable consumer protection, labelling, import and animal welfare regulations in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Repeated breaches — inaccurate listings, unsupported claims, cancelled orders or unresponsive support — result in storefront suspension and removal of the vendor from the marketplace.
4. Prohibited products
Horsie does not permit the listing, sale, advertising or shipment of veterinary medicinal products through this marketplace. This exclusion is absolute and applies to every vendor, every category and every market we serve.
- Prescription veterinary medicines, including antibiotics, anthelmintics requiring veterinary direction, hormones, vaccines and controlled substances.
- Any product presented as treating, preventing, curing or diagnosing disease in an animal.
- Injectable preparations, veterinary surgical instruments and anaesthetics.
- Live animals, animal parts subject to CITES restrictions, and products derived from protected species.
- Counterfeit goods, unlicensed replica tack, and any item that infringes a third party's intellectual property.
Feeds, supplements and premixes may be listed only as animal feeding stuffs. They must carry no dosage instructions for a disease and no efficacy claim beyond nutritional support. If your product needs a veterinary authorisation to be sold, it does not belong on Horsie.
5. Buyer protection
Payments are held by Horsie until your order is delivered and the return window has begun. If an item arrives damaged, materially different from its listing, or does not arrive at all, raise a claim from your order page within 14 days of delivery and we will mediate between you and the vendor.
Where mediation fails or the vendor does not respond within two business days, we will refund you in full from the held payment, including the delivery charge for that consignment.
6. Intellectual property
The Horsie name, logo, taxonomy, category structure, editorial content and software are owned by us and may not be reproduced without written permission. Vendors retain ownership of their own product imagery and descriptions, and grant us a non-exclusive licence to display, index and translate that material on the platform.
If you believe material on Horsie infringes your rights, notify us with the listing URL and evidence of ownership and we will remove it pending review.
7. Limitation of liability
Horsie is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not warrant that listings are complete or error-free, that the platform will be uninterrupted, or that a product will suit your particular animal. Responsibility for the safety and suitability of a product rests with the vendor that listed it and with you as the buyer.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or connected with your use of the marketplace is limited to the value of the commission we received on the order in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Bahraini law.
8. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain, including the Consumer Protection Law and the Electronic Transactions Law. The courts of Bahrain have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that cannot be resolved through our mediation process.
Before commencing proceedings, both parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith by writing to support@horsie.bh and allowing 14 days for a response.
